United States vows to help poorer countries combat climate change

The United Nations Climate Change Conference ended Saturday. The conference ended with a new financial agreement to help developing countries. During the conference, wealthy countries pledged to spend $300 billion annually to help poorer countries deal with the impact of climate change. The annual contribution will continue through 2035. However, leaders in some of the poorest countries said the money is not nearly enough. President Biden celebrated the agreement stating it’s a significant step to fighting global warming. Biden pledged the United States will continue on a path to clean energy, despite President-elect Donald Trump’s skepticism on climate change.
