Mr. Jonah Dogo Barde hails from Kulani Balanga LGA Gombe State. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) degree in Geography from the University of Maiduguri (1989), and a Master of Science (M. Sc) degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (2002). He had his National Youth Service Corps in the former Bendel State in 1990. Mr. Jonah D. Barde was employed in the Federal Civil Service in 1993 as Land Development Officer with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). He worked with NALDA field offices of Bauchi and Gombe States from 1993 to 2000. He was deployed to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2000 as Land Resources Officer. In 2005, he was posted to the Federal Ministry of Environment, Housing, and Urban Development as Senior Town Planning Officer. Mr. Jonah D. Barde is a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners (MNITP), and a Registered Town Planner (RTP). In 2017, Mr. Barde became an alumnus of the prestigious United States International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). Mr. Barde attended Courses and training on environmental issues and particularly on Climate Change in and outside Nigeria; some of which includes: Low Carbon Green Growth Development held in Seoul S/Korea; Climate Change Negotiators Training in Bamako Mali; Climate Change Negotiators Training in Cotonou, Benin; Training on Climate Finance, Abuja, Nigeria. Other countries visited for training are Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; Vienna, Austria; Nairobi, Kenya, and Accra, Ghana. He is also knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and social media. Mr. Barde is an Assistant Director and currently the Head, of the Vulnerability and Adaptation Division, Department of Climate Change, Federal Ministry of Environment Headquarters, Plot 444 Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama Abuja Nigeria. He is married with Children. His hobbies include Gardening, Landscaping, Watching Documentaries, Reading, and Travelling.
