On tourism and climate change | Opinion

Editor:

The good news is that outdoor recreation contributes $1.2 trillion, an incomprehensible number, to the U.S. economy every year. Colorado has got it in spades.

Now we have a debate between kowtowing to the town’s resort business community (real estate speculators, big money) or supporting locals, the kind of people who live in APCHA housing and vote.

The debate on climate change isn’t going away. The data shows winter is ending earlier.

And what is toxic tourism? Plenty of people around the world are screaming about it. Towns and cities are changing short-term rental policies to support the real local residents, not bottom-feeding real estate speculators.
