WHAT IS GREEN HOUSE GAS?

A greenhouse gas (GHG) is a gas in the atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infra-red range. Some GHG occur naturally such as water vapour, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane, Nitrous oxide (NO) and Ozone. Others such as Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and Sulphur hexafluoride (SFCs) result exclusively from human industrial processes.
